The Oral Presentation was initially set on 15 FEB 2019 to remind students of ONE-WEEK earlier/advance submission of the draft manuscripts of the thesis (Chapters 1-5), including necessary attachments and supporting documents to the panel of examiners.
To date, NO COPIES RECEIVED, thus the final presentation will depend on your report submission (ONE WEEK AFTER) the panel of examiners received the hard copies. Each group has to make sure that the examiners received their copies. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE DRAFT REPORTS FOLLOW THE PRESCRIBED FORMAT (REFER TO THE GUIDEBOOK). NON-COMPLIANCE TO THE FORMAT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Oral Presentation (Re-defense) was initially set on 15 FEB 2019 to remind students of ONE-WEEK earlier/advance submission of the final revised manuscripts of the thesis.
To date, NO COPIES RECEIVED, thus the final presentation will depend on your report submission to the panel of examiners. In other words, the date of the re-defense will be set one week after the receipt of the draft copies of the thesis and distributed to the panel of examiners. ALL GROUPS ARE REQUIRED TO RE-DEFEND/PRESENT AS PART OF THE COMPLETION FOR THE SUBJECT. NO CLASS THIS COMING Saturday, 09 February 2019. However, you are still required to submit the long over-due submission of the first draft of Chapter 2: Review of Literature. As to reiterate, you need to include at least 2 journal articles and one (1) thesis; and using the three ways/methods of citation (quoting, summarizing and paraphrasing) in your review.
Observe proper citation and referencing using APA style. Please do not forget to indicate your "proposed research title/topic" in your submission. As mentioned during the previous classes, submit to the guard - main gate with proper identification of the documents (copies of the journal articles and abstract of the thesis) submitted. REMINDER: This is my last WARNING for non-submittal of the reports on time. If you can not submit on the date specified above, this will be the basis for non-compliance to the course, thus a reason for "WITHDRAWAL" from the course. LATE SUBMISSION WILL RECEIVE POINT DEDUCTION. THIS IS TO REITERATE that the next assignment is to start writing the Chapter 2 - Review of Literature. It was already agreed the proposed research topic that your group wanted to pursue. However, since this is only a review on how to conduct a literature review, each member of the group will write his/her own contribution to the proposed research topic thru the journal articles that each member submitted. It is still acceptable to write the review even the submitted articles are not relevant or related to the research topic. This is only an exercise as an initial activity in writing the Chapter 2 of your proposed research topic.
There are three (3) ways/methods to do the review: paraphrasing, summarizing and quoting. Each member has to write using these ways/methods by highlighting the following: (a) the methodology (ies) used in the research study as stipulated in the journal article; and (b) major findings, including recommendations (if any) of the author(s). Your review should use all the three ways/methods in writing (a) and (b) using the American Psychological Association (APA) style of citation and referencing. It is expected that each member has to list down the reference using APA style. Please refer to the Guidebook.
